Lost among the spectacle at this year's ESPYs behind Serena Williams' dress (a fashion spectacle that reportedly caused Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch to give a spontaneous standing ovation) and Brian Wilson's spandex tuxedo (which had us thinking that maybe we've seen just a bit too much of Mr. Wilson lately) was the following statement of devotion toward actress/super-babe Halle Berry from Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson:
"I have to meet Halle Berry," Peterson said on the red carpet. "She's a gorgeous woman. I don't kiss feet at all, but she has good features and her feet are one of those features. So, you know, I'd kiss her feet."
It's not known whether the two did meet, but we're not going to argue with Peterson's 'scouting report'. At age 44, Berry is still one of the world's most beautiful women, and though we're not into feet on, say, a Rex Ryan level, we're pretty sure that there isn't any part of Ms. Berry that isn't outstanding.
Regarding Peterson's chances ? well, Berry was married to a professional athlete at one time (Atlanta Braves outfielder David Justice, from 1993 through 1997), and she's been in two other serious relationships ? one with musician Eric Benet and another with model Gabriel Aubry.
Maybe Peterson, who is almost 20 years younger than Berry, could be the one? You just never know.
Peterson will soon return to the NFL as the current lockout finally gets solved, so we're hoping he got to fulfill his dream and at least meet Berry ? he's going to be a lot busier for the next several months. And he might want to keep that foot fetish to himself in the locker room...
