Breakfast Buffet: Demetri Goodson’s next move? Baylor football.

1. Former Gonzaga point guard Demetri Goodson has decided to transfer to Baylor, but he won't be joining the Bears' crowded backcourt. Instead the Texas native will trade his high tops for cleats and join the Baylor football program, following in the footsteps of older brother Mike, who is now a running back with the Carolina Panthers.

2. Most of the debate surrounding this Pat Forde column centered on the placement of Duke among college basketball's top overachievers, but it was the absence of Wisconsin that caught my attention. The Badgers continually being among the 20 best teams in the nation despite a dearth of high school talent in the stateprobably makes them worthy of inclusion among the top 10 overachievers.

3. One of the casualties of the Big East swallowing up the upper echelon of Conference USA in 2005 was the end of the rivalry between Memphis and Louisville. Those two programs took a step toward restoring that rivalry after a six-year layoff with the announcement of a home-and-home series to begin next season in Louisville.

4. Penn State will interview Ron Everhart this week, no surprise considering the Duquesne coach possesses certain qualities the Nittany Lions should find attractive. Not only does he have strong recruiting ties in the Northeast, he has shown the ability to rebuild programs in even more challenging situations than at Penn State.

5. Whereas the Maui Invitational appears to be as loaded as it has been in years, one of the other preseason crown jewels doesn't boast nearly as tantalizing a field. The four host schools for next season's Preseason NIT will be Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State and Stanford, three of whom missed the NCAA tournament last season.

Why's Arizona so excited about incoming freshman Nick Johnson? This video of the Findlay Prep shooting guard should provide some clues. The Wildcats won't have Derrick Williams or MoMo Jones next season, but Johnson is part of a highly touted recruiting class that should ensure the program doesn't fall far.

"Most of the people I admired most in my career I don't really admire anymore because for the analysts or the writers or the public or our wives. Sometimes, they have a warm, fuzzy feeling for some people that if they knew what I knew, they wouldn't have such a warm, fuzzy feeling." -- New Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt on his colleagues in the coaching profession.
