iPhone 4 Class Action Lawsuit after ?Glass Gate?

There have been many complaints about the fragility of iPhone 4′s glass casing. So much so that the phenomenon is now termed “Glassgate.” Earlier this week Donald LeBuhn, of Los Angeles, filed a class action lawsuit against Apple. He claims that the iPhone 4 is not as durable as Apple claims and that Apple continues to sell the product without warning customers of its defective glass housing.

LeBuhn had spent $252 in September for his new iPhone 4, but within three weeks, the glass broke after his daughter accidentally dropped it from about three feet off the ground while sending a text message. A similar accident happened when he used to own an iPhone 3GS, but the glass on that phone did not break after the drop.

Apple is marketing the strength of the iPhone 4 as being ?20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic? and is “ultradurable” and crafted from the same type of “glass used in helicopters and high-speed trains.” LeBuhn feels that these claims are false and is asking the court for Apple to refund the price paid for the iPhone 4 to everyone in the class action lawsuit and to reimburse repair fees.
